I propose that New Zealand Television Awards be merged into New Zealand Film and TV Awards.

The history of film and television awards in New Zealand is not a smooth ride. The awards frequently change names and organisers. At the moment, the awards history can be split into two groups: pre- and post-2004. Before 2004 the awards were run by the Guild of Film and Television Arts. After 2005 the awards were run by ThinkTV and the Screen Director's Guild of NZ. But now the SDGNZ are pulling out, the TV awards are changing names again and an alternative film awards ceremony is taking its place. With a consistent history of changes, I'm proposing that the two pages be merged to keep one constant record of the history of New Zealand's film and television awards.
