NRW - now in business[edit]

NRW began life on 1st April - time to flesh out this brief article on an important Welsh body! Geopersona (talk) 09:01, 2 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Pre-merger debate[edit]

The section on the pre-merger concerns of the forestry industry have been deleted without explanation several times. I think it's important to include something on the run-up to the merger, but if the current formulation is deficient in some way perhaps the necessary changes can be discussed here first. Boundaries and responsibilities[edit]

I hope that by now that NRW knows its physical boundaries. Can somebody provide this information and explain how the these devilish rivers that chose to flow in and out of Wales are now managed. Thanks  Velella  Velella Talk   22:35, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

objections from forestry sector[edit]

As promised in the edit summary, an explanation for this edit I just made:

  • Firstly, I think we should avoid the word "snubbed" because of the implied opinion that he should have been appointed, and we should avoid expressing opinions. The fact that Wales Online uses that word does not change this (and it doesn't attribute the word to anybody whom we could neutrally quote).
  • Secondly, the BBC and Wales Online sources are essentially simultaneous (note original publication date on the Wales Online article rather than Updated date). "He was subsequently snubbed" in the previous version suggests that he made a complaint, and then his not being appointed was later retaliation by Griffiths for his having complained. This would seem to misrepresent the chronology. It seems that what actually happened was that he complained about the makeup of the board that had already been chosen.
