Name as per WP:COMMONNAME

The common and popularly understood name of this stadium is "Motera Stadium", as demonstrated at the 2020 Namaste Trump event. Thus, in line with WP:COMMONNAME (see Prayagraj as an example), the name used will be Motera Stadium, but Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium will ALSO be mentioned. Capacity (110,000 or 132,000) ?

Up until recently, the variety of reliable sources stated a capacity of 110,000 CNN, Al Jazeera. There seem to be more now that state a capacity of 132,000 India TV News NDTV Times of India; did that change during the remodel? It'd be nice to see a strong source that unequivocally states something like "during the remodel, the capacity was increased from 110 to 132 thousand." Strangely, one of the sources that states the 132 number sources it to the GCA (Gujarat Cricket Association), yet the GCA's own website uses the 110 number here. A few other sources in disagreement: US News & World Report says 132, whereas Telegraph UK says 110.OhNoitsJamie Talk 14:44, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

You also tried to say that Cricinfo says its 110000 but even the Cricinfo website says that its 132000.

The announced capacity after building and opening of the stadium is 132000.

This is confirmed by Reuters Cricinfo and the official press release of govt of India on the PIB website.

The article speaks of them discussing the size. Their plan was for 110,000 - it can't suddenly change in the last two days and add another 22,000 seats.
The Cricinfo page on the stadium says 132,000, but I feel this is copied and has been part of a huge "chinese whispers" without good enough sourcing. https://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/ground/57851.html - The page even states "No responsibility is taken by Cricinfo for the accuracy of this information."

There's what, a couple of sources saying 132,000? Which I would posit is for political influence (A press release and the release at the ground) - whilst much more have stated the more realistic 110,000 figure. You're clutching at straws here. DiamondIIIXX (talk) 13:44, 25 February 2021 (UTC)

The official announced capacity of the ground on the opening day was 132000.

The Cricinfo article you quote is before opening and based on speculation rather than the official announcement.

Not every source says 132,000, so it's worth discussing. As reliable sources say 110,000 as well as 132,000, I think both should be listed i.e. have capacity in infobox as "110,000 or 132,000" with a note for the discrepency. Yes, very neat. When tons of latest sources mentions an updated figure, DiamondIIIXX clings to one OFFICIAL OWNER source that gives 110,000. Why turn a blind eye to the same OFFICIAL OWNER site that also says 132,000? The 132,000 source is also directly related because its the stadium profile. Webmasters tend to forget updating one page and not the other. Why are you creating a new section for this? There's already a section above discussing the fact that reliable sources are at odds about this; some reliable sources are saying 110, and some are saying 132. Concur, I suggest this be moved to the above section. But to be clear, what exactly is being requested here? There's no template or other standardised from that makes it clear. If a semi-protected edit is being requested, I don't understand by, as the requester is a signed-in user and could do it themself... except that's what the text currently says, so redundant anyway. If it's a request to semi-protect... then it already is, so again, not following. Is full protection being sought? Also, Narendra Modi Stadium refers to the new stadium built, not the previous one that was called motera stadium, which wasn't even in use for a while. How is it disputed? The owners of the stadium have made the number public. The government have made the number public. So many reputed publications have been cited.

Hi @Doug Weller: an editor wrote in this article that Rungrado 1st of May Stadium is the largest arena in the world and Modi arena is 2nd number. Which info is true, is Modi arena is largest stadium in the world or not, because people in Ind believe that Modi stadium is the largest stadium in the world by seating capacity?
