Is "My Own Dance" a single?[edit]

Due to a content dispute with an IP editor, I have opened up a discussion. "My Own Dance" is a single because reliable sources have called it that, and it was released to radio. CountyCountry (talk) 22:59, 9 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

My Own Dance, Resentment and Tonight are not official singles, they're promotional singles just like Cannibal, Sleazy, Learn to Let Go and Hymn. They weren't sent to radio (an unreliable source says it was sent in Australia) 2A00:1D58:4600:1E00:E006:62A9:4667:DBD6 (talk) 13:11, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It’s a promotional single. The sources you use are discussing the format it was released. Kesha is not promoting the song at all as the second single. She hasn’t even performed it live. Some promotional singles get radio play, but it does not always make it a single. 24.159.207.178 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 22:56, 11 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The sources I have used are reliable sources. If they say that they were released as singles, then they are singles. And songs that get released to the radio are singles, and there is consensus that this is true. Kesha herself has never said that it isn't a single. Promotion doesn't matter here. Also remember to put four tildes (~) at the end of each message to make your signature. CountyCountry (talk) 02:27, 12 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Some of her promotional singles were called singles by articles in the past, but that didn’t make them singles at the time, such as Hymn, Woman, and Learn to Let Go. And no the radio thing isn’t always true. And your right, Kesha said it’s her second SONG. She is still pushing Raising Hell a lot, and yeah promotion does matter when it comes to this. 24.159.207.178 (talk) 04:10, 12 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
"Woman" is a single. It was released to radio, and it is even listed as a single here on Wikipedia. Only one reliable source has called "Hymn" a single, and none have called "Here Comes the Change" a single. But, for "My Own Dance", Billboard, Rolling Stone, The Fader, and The Best Line of Fit have called it a single. And there is consensus that songs sent to radio are singles. The majority on here seems to agree to that. "My Own Dance" does not need to have a lot of promotion to be a single. CountyCountry (talk) 21:27, 12 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
In what world is a song released to radio not a single? I understand that the idea of what qualifies as a single these days is extremely vague (hence this debate) but that's one thing that's always been true.Gagaluv1 (talk) 22:08, 12 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
At the time “Woman” was first released, it was a promotional single but articles were calling it a single. More than one reliable source called “Hymn” a single, and yes HCTC was called a single as well. And again, some promotional singles were released to radio. But whatever, do you what you guys want.184.94.226.205 (talk) 23:59, 12 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
