Request to semi-protect page[edit]

Hi. The page Mumtaz Qadri is continuously being vandalised by users who support his terroristic actions. Examples of such users include 92.12.221.94. I request this page please be semi-protected, to protect from such further vandalism. Thank you. --113.203.212.32 (talk) 20:23, 19 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 3 March 2016[edit]

Please add one few things in the article. Mumtaz qadri was once removed from the Police due to his radical religious views but was placed back again in the Police service in the elite squad. He also appealed to the President of Pakistan to show mercy and despite admitting to the offence must be released. Also change the last paragraph as it shows that Majority of Pakistan supported Qadri being Hanged. Majority Endorsed the decision so request to re write the last paragraph in that fashion. Damhaahmad (talk) 17:11, 3 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: as you have not requested a specific change in the form "Please replace XXX with YYY" or "Please add ZZZ between PPP and QQQ".
More importantly, you have not cited reliable sources to back up your request, without which no information should be added to, or changed in, any article. - Arjayay (talk) 17:58, 3 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"Malik Mumtaz Hussain Qadri (1985 – February 29, 2016), better known as Mumtaz Qadri (Urdu: ممتاز قادری ), was a Pakistani criminal-policeman." Remove the criminal adjective as it shows no additional information except a bias. For example the article on Ghazi Ilam Din Shaheed introduces him with out using this word as, "Ilm-ud-din (4 December 1908 – 31 October 1929) was a Muslim who murdered a book publisher ... of Muslims." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 39.34.166.110 (talk) 01:49, 19 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 20 March 2016[edit]

An editor is posting wrong and falsified information, they are committing slander on the person and will not listen to reason.

More needs to be added surrounding what happened.

i.e Secrecy around the trail and hanging in secret, and main reason why the he did what he did.

These articles are needed to be read fully and more information from them added to wiki, but one of the user keeps vandalising the page.

More balance is needed on the wiki.

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. Also, since the request you made deals with material directly involved with why the page is protected, you may want to get consensus for the changes. As it stands, the revisions you support seem highly POV, and I doubt they will be included as you suggested. -- The Voidwalker Discuss 17:42, 20 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User:Musa Raza seems to think that Mumtaz Qadri was not an Islamic fundamentalist, and she/he is edit warring to keep any such statements out of the article. I, on the other hand, have edit warred (yeah, I know, I shouldn't have) to keep the phrase "Islamic fundamentalist" in the article. I have given a source (http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/pakistan-islamic-extremist-mumtaz-qadri-hanged-murder-governor-over-blasphemy-law-stance-1546627) and it is extremely easy to find other reliable sources that show that Mumtaz Qadri was an Islamic fundamentalist. Any comments? —Wasell(T) 15:03, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Wasell: I'm warring? I asked you to stop reverting my edit and start a discussion. Now you reverted my edit again and you're saying that I'm edit warring. Wow!
You're nominating the articles I've created for deletion as well. I'm surprised with your behaviour.--Musa Talk  15:16, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request to Protect the Page Mumtaz Qadri[edit]

The page was being continuously vandalised before it was protected. Now that the protection has been lifted, it was vandalised again. This time by user 86.70.35.244. I reverted his/her vandalism, but in view of the situation, I request the page be placed under protection once more. Thanks. --113.203.188.243 (talk) 11:34, 26 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • In the beginning change policeman and Islamic Muslim fundamentalist to: policeman turned murderer. A Barelvi who served....
  • In the infobox change motive to: Barelvism, add allegiance = Elite Police, in killing section add weapon = Ak-47, change death to execution by hanging.

The reason is he was a Barelvi and supported Barelvi movement (read Barelvi page. So adding that will be correct than Islamic Muslim fundamentalist which is used for militants and terrorist groups and they are not related to Barelvis. Sources also prove that he is a Barelvi and notable figure in them. 119.160.100.49 (talk) 14:48, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Jd22292 I thought there was no need for the sources as the article has many. Here are some sources which suggest he's Barelvi. 1 2 3 Please read the Islamic fundamentalism and Barelvi pages also you'll understand the difference.--119.160.100.137 (talk) 23:58, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Can we please amend the photo?[edit]

Can we like remove or change the picture? I don't like the current one, which is kind of personifying this terrorist in a positive way. --103.217.176.149 (talk) 13:22, 24 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This is a Baseless request. Mumtaz Qadri. Who is a Pakistani. Did work according the blasphemy law. Which is correct according to the laws of Pakistan penal code here is a link of it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blasphemy_in_Pakistan

Removing recent insertions[edit]

I've removed User:Reflexa9's edits regarding the Mosque built in honour of Mumtaz Qadri. I have done so because

  • The material inserted was largely original research. The article cited doesn't say anything about calligraphy or Masjid al-Nabawi or love for Islam. They are simply claims made by Reflex9a.
  • The material also contained the editor's opinions about the beauty of the mosque and so forth.
  • The material inserted is at best, tangential to the subject of this article, which is Mumtaz Qadri, a murderer, not the mosque. Articles need to stay on topic.

Please do not re-insert this material. PepperBeast (talk) 20:06, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

So clams that a monument was made. And it is a sub topic which is directly related to the person who the article is about. And is necessary. As of then a new page should be made about the shrine. Tell me how can you not have a connection between a place made after a person to the person Himself? I’m sure you need to watch out for what you speak for as you sound like a disruptive editor with half false claims. The edit that about the beauty of the monument is stated by many people who have visited that place and there are a lot of videos of the place If you’d like actual results please check it out. You’ll find everything that I said up to the mark. You’re quite very wrong about everything. Make sure you do the research about the clams I made.

Reflexa9 (talk) 20:23, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest that you cease the personal attacks and drop the threatening tone. It is not my job to research your claims. It is your job to follow Wikipedia policy and to provide reliable sources. PepperBeast (talk) 22:31, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please add the picture. It’s needed. Removing it with baseless or biased negative views is Not constructive instead it’s damaging Reflexa9 (talk) 02:18, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: You haven't provided the picture, nor your rationale for the inclusion. Stating It's needed. would not be sufficient rationale. I can tell by reading the above it's probably in the diff that Pepper reverted, but that's outside the scope of my reviewing of this request. Also, because it's inclusion is currently in question, you will need consensus for an editor to proceed with this request. This, as of my reply, is not present. —Sirdog (talk) 06:29, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Minor error[edit]

There was an error with the editing. With info box. Redo it. Remove the tag criminal as He was in accordance with the blasphemy laws of His county. Reflexa9 (talk) 02:40, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No, he wasn't. He was convicted of murder in accordance with the laws of his country. PepperBeast (talk) 11:45, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 21 February 2024[edit]

The statement that "Hundreds of people per day visit his grave" is sourced to an article written in April 2016, less than two months after his death. I suggest removing this statement, or changing it to something like "shortly after his death, his grave was receiving hundreds of visitors per day." Or, if a source can be found confirming that in 2024, his grave continues to receive hundreds of visitors per day, then that source should be added.

Also, the statement that "According to an estimate, the funeral was attended by over 100,000 people" cites no source. It should be removed, or flagged as citation needed, or a citation should be added. 199.66.14.55 (talk) 19:50, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done After reviewing the page I agree that these changes were needed. I added funeral attendance from an existing citation, clarified when the grave was receiving visitors, and added a note requesting an update about the grave site status. Jamedeus (talk) 01:11, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
