Ahmed Rushdi editor[edit]

why do you INSIST on listing Ahmed Rusdhi in an article about Mukesh:

a) Ahmed Rusdhi WAS NOT a Bollywood playback singer, he WAS NOT Indian, he was PAKISTANI and he sang songs in that country's film industry. He is in NO WAY related to Mukesh, Mohammed Rafi saab, or Kishore Kumar.

b) Why do you INSIST on grouping Ahmed Rushdi with the three aforementioned Indian playback singers so as to classify them under great singers of the "Indian Subcontinent'. Thats like someone writing an article about an Albanian singer, and listing him with singers from Bosnia, Croatia, and Serbia and grouping them as great singers of the "Balkans".

c) Just STOP IT man, I don't know if you are pakistani or not, but there is no need to mention ahmed rushdi in this article.

d) Mukesh, Mohammed Rafi, and Kishore Kumar are THE GOLDEN TRIOLOGY of Indian male playback singers, all INDIANS know this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.38.191.11 (talk) 16:37, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Move[edit]

Thanks SoWhy, this Mukesh is the Mukesh most people will search for, not the other 5 Mukeshs

Need discussion[edit]

What is the meaning of "ghost voice of". A simple google search also doesn't give proper information. Can somebody change it to simple and understandable English term? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2405:204:8B:7458:B0F1:FCCE:183F:B1B8 (talk) 03:46, 22 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Mukesh MathurMukesh (singer) – It seems that this person is better know by his first name alone, i.e., "Mukesh". (This info was not present in the article earlier, but it has been added now.) There are several other articles in WP of people with the same first name, including another person known mononymously as "Mukesh". However, this person is the only singer with this name, hence proposing a move to "Mukesh (singer)". Aurorion (talk) 12:11, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support - since there is another person going by that name alone too (Mukesh (actor)) - BollyJeff || talk 12:56, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - Mukesh, the singer should be moved back to "Mukesh" (just as it originally was) as majority of articles (200 or so) link it there. A seperate disambiguation page titled "Mukesh (disambiguation)" should be created. For example refer how Rajkumar and Rajkumar (disambiguation) are present. -Animeshkulkarni (talk) 13:40, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: In the case of Rajkumar, there is no other notable person with the same exact name. In this case the situation is different: there is at least one other notable person who is known mononymously as "Mukesh", in addition to several other notable people with the exact same first name. Hence I agree with SOS/X.One below that this page does not satisfy primary topic criterion. Aurorion (talk) 15:49, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm thinking of starting a discussion for the Rajkumar example as well. X.One SOS 13:47, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I gave that example in order to bring uniformity. And i do think that Mukesh Singer is the primary topic. You will find more results related to him on google. Second on the search would be Mukesh Ambani. This Mukesh actor who also goes by single name is hardly found. -Animeshkulkarni (talk) 16:19, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You shall have to share the links for the Google results. Also, that alone cannot determine a primary topic. Go through WP:PRIME. Comparing the article traffic ([1], [2]) and WP link detector results ([3], [4]) also gives a good opinion. X.One SOS 13:44, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Umm.... lets wait for some more people to comment. I am on border now. -Animeshkulkarni (talk) 14:23, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. If the person is better known only by his first name (Mukesh), then Mukesh Mathur -> Mukesh (singer) would be a good choice. Vensatry (Ping me) 16:14, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Article Needs attention[edit]

This article needs attention because a very less information is available for this legendary singer of Hindi film industry. I request all concerned editors to find reliable resources in order to expand the article. I will also try to do the job.Kishfan (talk) 21:04, 5 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Maintenance template[edit]

I have added some reliable citations and removing {{refimprove}} tag since it remained there for good about 9 years.-Kishfan (talk) 10:05, 10 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Re added the template. Some contents are still unverified. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:25, 10 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
