"Adult Entertainment" ad[edit]

Has the "Adult Entertainment" advertisement actually been confirmed yet? Or are we just using common sense that Channel4 like to be clever with their ads? Nevertheless, Wiki shouldnt work on assumed info. --Hamdev Guru 22:14, 22 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I've seen the ad, if that's what you mean. If you mean "will it be porno", then clearly no - Channel 4 are just being clever, like you said. -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 22:18, 22 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I agree 100% :) After seeing the teaser (not sure if that's the correct term) that's broadcasting on Freeview Channel13 instead of their test screen. I think the ad is most definitely related to More4.--Hamdev Guru 14:08, 24 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
The new teaser released today confirms that More4 is the Adult Entertainment Channel. At the start of the teaser it says "More4 the new Adult Entertainment Channel from four." -- Hamdev Guru 17:30, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
They're really hamming it up - the trailers feature plenty of silly sex-like gasping sounds. -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 17:41, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Added "Future Channel" template --Hamdev Guru 14:08, 24 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

And I took it out at 20:15.--Codenamecuckoo 19:10, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The link: "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart strikes syndication deal with Channel 4" is broken. 212.159.12.139 19:56, 27 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for noticing that. I've replaced it with an equivalent link that still works. Lousy Reuters... -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 20:05, 27 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Is the Daily Show DOG paragraph really necessary?[edit]

I removed the paragraph about the Daily Show DOG, but it's been put back in. I don't feel it really has much relevance to an article on the channel - it's just one almost unnoticeable aspect of one show. What do others feel? KeithD (talk) 20:27, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Remove. This is absurd. I'm sure lots of other television programs on other channels have been similarly modified. Morwen - Talk 11:02, 12 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Done. (Yes, yes, it's only a 'consensus' of two, but people can raise their reasons for it here, and then we can put it back if it is worthwhile). KeithD (talk) 11:48, 12 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

More4+1[edit]

No mention of More4+1 and its close down? --Pongles 10:30, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There's a brief mention of it in the "Availability" section. RobWill80 10:39, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

During the More4 ident, when it asks celebrities questions, what is the marimba or xylophone music in the background? Where can I find it?[edit]

Fair use rationale for Image:More4logo.jpg[edit]

Image:More4logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:50, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

'Timeshift'[edit]

I don't understand the reference to timeshift in the lead section. What does this mean? EvilRedEye 21:31, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A timeshift service means that the feed is delayed or "shifted" behind, up to several hours, so that people can view it based on their schedual, and not miss their shows because for example, they work during the normal airing period of that programme. In countries with multiple time zones, this is done by providing a feed of the same channel from another time zone. Fry1989 (talk) 02:41, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

It's not More4, but actually 4more, as you can see from their website, and from idents available on youtube. Someone should begin renaming all the links and references when possible. Fry1989 (talk) 02:13, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I guess the channel's logo does look a little as if it could be read "4 More" but all of the references in the article (such as http://www.channel4.com/programmes/tags/more4), the channel's continuity announcers and all UK tv listings call it More4.Alistair Stevenson (talk) 09:34, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
