References[edit]

This is a biography of a living person and thus should have a decent reference section. I wrote the stub from the bare facts in the Arabic version, which doesn't have a useful bibliography either, so I only included non-controversial information. Someone else should really take this page on; this is one of the most politically important people in the Arab world and it's embarrassing that wikipedia had no page about this guy for a full year after he was appointed. Honestly the Arabic page is pretty pathetic as well, so there's not really much to go on. When I have the time and inclination I will look for a published profile of him in Arabic, if someone else doesn't find one first.jackbrown (talk) 12:08, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I added some more information from an official biography on a Muslim Brotherhood page in English. Somebody should find at least one more good source though.jackbrown (talk) 17:21, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling of name?[edit]

I noticed in the article that his name was spelled Badi'e on several occasions, yet the page title and in other places in the article, his name was spelled Badie. Should changes to a particular spelling or another be made, to follow the principle of spelling consistency throughout an article; including an eventual moving of the article to Mohammed Badi'e? What is the correct spelling of the name? I think the matter should be discussed, since eventual readers may find it confusing. --Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad 09:20, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. Badi'e is the spelling in the German Wikipedia, while I cannot see how it is justified. I neither understand why Badie should be a good transliteration/transcription—cf. Romanization of Arabic. It may be a good and simple idea just to replace "Badi'e" by "Badie". Uwe Lück (talk) 20:32, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bias[edit]

This article is full of bias, if one takes a look at the sources they all lead to pro-Israel stance websites. Liesbeth98

I AGREE, IT IS RATHER astounding, just a pamphlet to assassinate the character. I wanted to know a bit about this group after the coup d'etat and all what i find is 1/2 of an article quoting this guy with hateful speeches against israel as so many other articles on this web totally in favor of them. Obviously the owner is jewish and besides pandering for money and letting people work for free making his encyclopedia it seems his only agenda is to police those articles to show the point of view of the jewish-american empire. what a shame.

There are certain editors here who only care about updating an article with Israel-related material that interests them only. And although they have the right to do so, I do agree that it can sometimes be undue weight. You can balance the article by adding the good things about the guy (if there are any) instead of eliminating sourced content just like that, in case that's what you were suggesting. Please correct me if I misunderstood. Fitzcarmalan (talk) 20:24, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

view of Bashar Assad[edit]

the article needs to be updated to include Badie's stance on the Syrian dictator Bashar Assad and the ongoing civil war in Syria. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.245.243.173 (talk) 17:34, 2 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
