  • ... that naming every character "Bob" was common in the play-by-mail game Mobius-I? Source: Rich, Scott; Carver, Dan (April 1988). "So Your Setup Turn for Mobius-I Just Arrived". Flying Buffalo Quarterly. No. 60. p. 15.

    • Comment: QPQ pending; Source is Dan Carver, one of the two game designers, who said: "Some players only name their overlord ... others give all of their characters the same name (Bob seems to be popular)."

  • Article meets DYK requirements, the hook is intriguing to non-specialists and is cited inline (AGF on the sourcing since the reference is a book), no close paraphrasing was found, and a QPQ has been provided. Just some minor issues:
  • Players have used various sources to name their characters, including phone books, friends, fictional characters, obituaries, and other. I think this sentence is missing a word or two here.
  • Speaking of that sentence, I think that was also quite interesting and could also make a good hook.
The nomination will be good to go once the issue is addressed and when an ALT1 based on my suggestion is proposed. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 04:58, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Much appreciated Narutolovehinata5. I adjusted the sentence. Please let me know if that doesn't make sense. ALTs below.
ALT1: ... that players in the play-by-mail game Mobius-I named their characters using phone books, friends names, fictional characters, and obituaries?
ALT1a: ... that characters in the play-by-mail game Mobius-I were named using phone books, friends names, fictional characters, and obituaries?
Thank you. All hooks are approved; I will leave the choice of hook to the promoter. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 03:14, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
