Article name[edit]

Should this be decapitalised to Mississippi alluvial plain or should River be added in, ie, Mississippi River Alluvial Plain or Mississippi River alluvial plain? Nurg (talk) 04:08, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Changes needed to graphic legend and article text[edit]

The teal section of the image is not the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet. The MRGO begins at the Industrial Canal in New Orleans, and heads due east to Breton Sound, as shown here: http://www.mrgo.gov/MRGO_History.aspx. There is no need to include the MRGO in this graphic or article. The teal section of the image is actually the Mississippi River Delta, roughly equivalent to Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plaquemines_Parish,_Louisiana). The deep blue section of the image is not the Mississippi River Delta. It is (roughly) the Atchafalaya River Basin, a major distributary of the Mississippi River, and a former ancient course of the Mississippi (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mississippi_River#Course_changes). The image does not need to change, but the legend does, along with any associated text in the accompanying article. Sorry that I don't know how to make these changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.59.79.69 (talk) 05:26, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
