Images[edit]

The images in this article all require fair use rationale as noted at Wikipedia:Fair use. Does any user hold an image of Otto from a film or production set? If they do, it should be featured as the lead image because the fair use rationale is much easier to write — in the case of a promotional shot, it would be a bit more challenging. Thoughts? —Eternal Equinox | talk 15:51, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I added a screencap from Otto's 1998 film Dead Letter Office as the lead image and wrote a fair use rationale for it. — Underneath-it-All 17:44, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's good. Sorry for taking so long to respond, I... sort of forgot about this article... pretty depressing, but here, I'm back. I've yet to check the fair use rationale for the image, but I'm going to do that right now. —Eternal Equinox | talk 18:38, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Underneath-it-All, we appeared to have had an edit confliction on Image:MirandaOtto.png. If you dislike the fair use rationale I supplied for the image, then feel free to revert to your previous edit. Anyway, I think the article should be expanded to include critiqué about her film performances. Any ideas or other suggestions? —Eternal Equinox | talk 18:46, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment completed for Miranda Otto[edit]

As per either a recent request at or because this article was listed as fully or partly unassessed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia/Assessment I have just now completed a rating of the article and posted my results to this page. Those results are detailed above in the template box. Unfortunately, due to the volume of articles that need to be assessed, I am unable to leave detailed comments other than to make the following brief observation: Subject of the article fills in important details

However if you have specific questions, please write to me on my talk page and as time permits I will try to provide you with my reasoning. Please put my talk page on your watchlist if you do ask such a question because in the case of these responses I will only post my answer underneath your question.

ALSO if you do not agree with the rating you can list it in the "Requesting an assessment section", and someone will take a look at it.--VS talk 11:21, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Boring[edit]

The subject matter of this article is extremely boring. I want to know why it was placed on the front page of Wikipedia?

The Miranda Otto article was placed on the front page because it was selected as today’s featured article. It (or a previous version of it) was chosen from a group of articles as one of the best produced by the Wikipedia community. If you can help by updating or improving it, you are invited to do so. The water’s fine and there’s plenty of room in the Wikipedia pool. Jump on in!-- Andrew Peacock - my talk page - 08:48, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I tried editing the Personnal section, but it was undone.[edit]

Why?

The quote by Nichole Kidman is infered in the reference in the negative, but the quote is in the positive. I simply added a 'doesn't think she ' in front of the quote, to clarify the language. Why was this taken back out?

I can’t tell you why your edit was undone. The editor who undid it didn’t explain, and it doesn’t look like he’s been online for a number of months. You did the right thing by posting your question to the talk page.

I checked what you were saying and you are absolutely correct. The quote was wrong. Good job in catching that! Thanks for trying to edit the article and improve it. I corrected the mistaken quote. I hope that you will continue to edit and that future experiences will be smoother. Best of luck in your future edits.-- Andrew Peacock - my talk page - 08:48, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Piece of crap[edit]

Why is this the featured article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.95.236.249 (talk) 04:32, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't say it is a "piece of crap". Please keep your comments civil. The article was promoted to featured status in June 2007, and standards have grown and changed significantly since then. Even featured articles aren't perfect, so feel free to improve the article yourself. Bradley0110 (talk) 09:54, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

...is an Australian actress from the Asian region near Oceania...[edit]

This description is extremely clumsy and verbose as well as inaccurate. According to Wikipedia (and general use) Australia is not part of Asia. It is part of Oceania and most certainly not near Oceania. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.209.121.190 (talk) 17:09, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Possible FAR candidate[edit]

This article has been in serious need of expansion and updates since it was promoted to FA in 2007. I was thinking about nominating it for FAR to address this issue. - Artoasis (talk) 07:32, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
