Purchase and Server "Status"[edit]
The server should still be written as if it is still discontinued, as the only announcement made so far is that Mineplex is being acquired; discord server messages don't fit reliability guidelines on Wikipedia, and tweets are not generally reliable themselves and rarely used only if absolutely necessary and when considered reliable enough, so I don't recommend jumping to conclusions on this event yet. This news was just announced and the server isn't even up again, so removing the "defunct" status and considering it as still active is wrong.
I'm not saying the news about this acquisition is fake, but considering the fact that it just happened and there aren't any considerably reliable sources that can help support what is being changed to the article right now, I wouldn't immediately jump to conclusions and consider the server as revived, because the person acquiring Mineplex hasn't even finished making plans regarding that yet. Mineplex was recently 100% acquired by Samito, a former Overwatch pro player. An article on PCGamesN was written about it due to how big the news is. If you also look at the former COO of Mineplex's Twitter account @Strutt20 you see him retweeting the Samito tweet further confirming the server is in new hands and will be revived.

Partly done: Added the Comicbook.com source, but the future of the server is not certain. It's not confirmed by any reliable source that Samito has purchased the LLC or what was purchased (PCGamesN and Comicbook just report on Samito's claims), so to me making the claim of it returning to Bedrock first is a bit speculation.
