New proposal for deletion[edit]

Even though the original nomination for deletion was withdrawn, this article adds nothing to the discussion on Interactive whiteboards of which this but one example. CS46 22:10, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I tend to disagree with your statement. I think it is important to have a description of all types of Interactive whiteboards on Wikipedia to provide reference to people with little to no experience of them. 203.100.211.6 21:04, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

When I proposed deletion in August, the article was simply a list of mimio branded whiteboards - in essence it still is. It tells us nothing new that is not in the Interactive Whiteboards article. I believe it falls under the heading of soapbox and therefore, under the 'Five Pillars of Wiipedia', should not be included. Unfortunately my proposal was rejected by User:Kappa at the last moment. I should have copied our correspondence here at the time. For the record, here it is:
  • Hi Kappa.
  • I would love to know what merit you find in the article on the 'mimio' interative whiteboard, apart from as an advert for this particular manufacturer.

    • Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mimio. Kappa 22:09, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
      • Yes, but that was before there was a more general Interactive Whiteboard entry. Do you really think we should have an entry for each manufacturer? CS46 20:44, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
        • I think a moderately popular manufacturer of office equipment is even more notable than a charting single or a random pokemon. One of the voters says "device is somewhat common in office environments. There have been a range of these devices dating back at least through the mid-90s of which the Xi is only the latest. " Enough to remove it from the realm of indiscriminate information. Kappa 22:58, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
      • I understand what you say, and I agree with your comparisons. I think the answer lies in resurrecting details of other manufacturers of similar (and no less novel) devices. Cheers. CS46 19:51, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, I haven't had time to address this again.

Merge discussion[edit]

This article should be merged with Interactive whiteboards as it provides little information. --gg4rest 23:13, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would say that it is best to reference the technology differences (mimio is included) and benefits rather than list specific brands. The growth of Interactive Whiteboards in schools would suggest a larger Interactive Whiteboard sub-section within Education Technology. 82.69.85.39 22:50, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

See my comments above. I agree this article give little information. If it gave information about the manufacturer/supplier (under their name) rather than just about a brand of IAWB, I would say Keep, but as it stands it should just be deleted (not merged).
CS46 23:52, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Now that the mimio range has been taken over by Sanford (writing products), it would be more encyclopaedic if the information in this article were included in the Sanford (writing products) page. CS46 16:44, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article should be merged with Expo Mimio, regardless of whether the content is also eventually merged with Interactive whiteboards. - AlanUS (talk) 15:03, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Non-English content[edit]

Can someone please explain what happened with 200.35.63.230's edits (involving replacement of English content in a foreign language)? I have reverted the edits for now, but can someone who can actually understand the text please check no legitimate new information was added?PerthMod (talk) 10:56, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
