Butcher[edit]

The report linked says "Ukrainian military officials". This is wartime propaganda of course, but obviously we can report such propaganda, just make sure instead of "by some" we say who is giving out these nicknames. I have long given up the hope that Wikipedia could remember "NPOV" and report propaganda from both sides, but if we are resigned to be a propaganda outlet for just one faction, we could at least still stick to a semblance of objectivity and distinguish between Wikipedia's voice and the one side whose propaganda we are reporting. I went to uk-wiki to establish what the Ukrainain version of this would be, and it turns out to be "Кат Маріуполя", which would translate to "the executioner of Mariupol", i.e. "butcher of Mariupol" is an English rendition of the spirit of the insult, not a literal translation. --dab (𒁳) 07:45, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"Deputy Leader"[edit]

The source cited characterizes him as the deputy commander of Wagner, which would definitely mean he is second in command.

However... here, he is said to be a deputy commander. What's more, Reuters distances itself from the claim, saying that it was claimed by "Russian pro-war channels". Even the earlier Yahoo source stated "reportedly".

On the Wagner Group page, it states that Wagner is controlled by a "Council of Commanders". There may be several Wagner officers outranking Mizintsev.

Until I see some better sources, I'm going to scrub all the mentions of him being the "Deputy Leader" of Wagner. Feel free to reply. Bremps... 01:47, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
