Vatican City Information[edit]

The statement: "As a theocracy, it may not join the Union..." is confusing. Is the Vatican City not allowed to join the EU or will it most likely not join, of its own volition? The statement should be rewritten to say either: "As a theocracy, it is not allowed to join the Union..." or "As a theocracy, it may choose to not join the Union..." It means it is not allowed to join. Only democratic states are permitted to join the EU (see article 49 TEU). Vatican City is an absolute monarchy (the Pope is the head of the Legislature, Executive and Judiciary, and is not limited by the famework of a constitution--he can rewrite it himself), about as undemocratic as as you can get. 86.43.72.9 (talk) 11:19, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Malta[edit]

Malta is not considered in this article. But it appears in European Microstates.--Erick91 (talk) 22:41, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
