Possible improvements[edit]

I have completed a review of this article for the Military History project and believe that it is currently a Start class article. I believe that it could be brought up to B class standard by addressing the following:

  • Referencing: I have added citation needed tags to where I feel that they are needed. If these could be added, I believe that it would then satisfy the B class requirement in this regard;
  • Coverage and accuracy: I have added a clarification needed tag to the assertion that Coiffard began the war in an artillery unit. One of the sources provided (the French source) indicates that he was actually in the infantry attached to the 1st Battalion, 13th Mountain Division. See this for the translation (which is admittedly a bit hard to understand due to the imprecise translation).
  • Supporting materials: the infobox satisfies the B class requirements, but an image of the subject would definately serve to better illustrate the article.
  • Style: one of the books listed in the References section (the Norman Franks book), is not actually cited in the text. As a general rule a book should not be listed in the References section unless cited in an in-line citation. Could a citation be added, or could this be moved to a Further reading section?

Anyway, that is all I have for now. I have done some general style fixes to the article to help it be a bit more MOS compliant. Hope this helps. If you wish to have the article assessed again once the above changes have been made, please let me know via my talk page, or put a request on the Mil Hist Assessment page — WP:MHA.
