Untitled[edit]

Shouldn't a HOF WR have a different picture up than a mug shot? Someone who has excelled at his sport should have a little more respect than this. The troubles with the law are clearly stated in the article.

Isn't it a shame about the cocaine?

But, in my opinion, that doesn't take away from, his career and achievements. C2 aaron 15:03, 23 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The "Michael irvin Rule"[edit]

Does it merit mentioning that rules in regards to excessive celebration and WR-CB interaction were put into place due to Irvin's play style? I think they are both a testament to his controversial nature and his effectiveness. Is there opposition to metnioning them?

"pleasure palace"[edit]

what is with the "white house" and "pleasure palace"...is that really necessary? I mean, what proof is there about that...Suggest for deletion of that sentence...Iowanflyer 19:10, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Carreer ending injury"[edit]

Michael Irvin was not cheered by the eagles fans. The article referenced is clearly biased. It is from cowboysplus.com. Please change this to boos. The division rival eagles fans were more than happy to see the player go down and suffer a career ending injury.

All you had to do was watch them game. I was watching it and when he hit the turf and didn't get up, and while he was being carted off, he was being booed by the Philly fans. You could hear it over the televison. Now I know Philly takes pride in havin' "tough" fans but I was just mean how they booed him. But yeah, all you have too do is play that clip and you can hear them booing. --Crash Underride 21:53, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"He became a "born again christian"[edit]

Please note that Michael Irvin beccame a "born again " christian in 2003. Where is the reporting on this? Also for people who have no idea what that means or what happens to a person a brief to the point explanation should be included. When a person accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour their life is radically. They do not become perfect (no one has been perfect accept Jesus) but the human spirit is recreated in the image and likeness of God. The person's body and mind remain the same. If I get born again and I weigh 190 and am out of shape, the next day I will be the same. However by reading, studying and meditating the bible (the Word of God) one's mind is renewed or changed to think and act like God thinks and acts. This takes time but is an individual matter also based on quality of bible teaching received and one's desire to change. There are though initial undeniable dramatic changes that take place. These changes in the persons behavior, desires, nature, disposition, attitude and outlook are best observed by those that know the person. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.115.62.119 (talk) 23:28, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh please, we don't need to hear your crap about how one's mind is changed and all that religous nonsense. The major religions are responsible for countless deaths and racism over the milennia, and do far more harm than good. Their point is to divide, and those who are divided are easy to manipulate and conquer. Most Born agains in my experience are insane, condemn and judge everyone around them, and have no idea of what God really is or how the universe works. And, if you are interested in using your God-given brain, then research the man that the Jesus Myth was based around--Apollonius of Tyana the Nazarene. Read the first-hand account of his life, "The Life of Apollonius" by Philosatrus, and "Apollonius of Tyana the Nazarene" by Dr. R. W. Bernard. Time for you to wake up and make your mind "born again." 192.249.47.11 (talk) 19:03, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously, cite things on Wikipedia or don't put them on Wikipedia. Isn't that the point? 64.111.153.237 (talk) 07:16, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Crackhead? and mention of Miami[edit]

In the opening sentence of the article it mentions that Irving is a crackhead. The term could be better described by saying something like "he had numerous off the field issues" or "was followed by legal problems through his career" or the like. Crackhead is not even a term that is mentioned in the main Wiki article on crack cocaine. Also it would seem consistent with other "good" NFL players articles if the specific college (Miami) which Irving attended was mentioned in the introductory paragraph. I am fairly new to the whole Wiki process and would rather verify that these changes should be made before I do them myself. Liberoarbitrio (talk) 20:05, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article needs serious rewrite[edit]

From top to bottom. It looks like everything in this article was just thrown in by several different editors over the years without paying any mind to where it went. It's almost incoherent. And there was entire sections of unsourced info detailing arrests and cocaine use and such. That's unacceptable for a biography of a living person, or any article for that matter.
