Isn't the ethymology of "media" as derivedd from the Persian province of that name EXTREMELY doubtful??? Or - at the least - rather creative. Media and means of communication

"Media" and "Means of Communication" are only equal for some authors. But even they describe that the concept of media is extremely fuzzy and a kind of umbrella term for very much and very different concepts. Media & Medium: the umbrella grouping of terms

• why is the singular form 'media' used as the umbrella term for a compilation of terms which would indicate the usage of the plural form 'medium'?

• Is there any evidence that the popularization of the term 'media' (from the Latin word 'medius', meaning 'in the middle') was to transfer a meaning of "don't shoot the middleman/messenger" and to dilute the accountability of persons within the multiple industries associated with the term?

The more I read it, I think the entire section can be scrubbed. There are multiple articles already outlining the various impacts that media has. It feels out of place, even if we edit the tone of the article. PaulRKil (talk) 16:14, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
