thus became the first person to appear on two different issues of American coinage[edit]

Is this all American coinage, or just all American commemorative coinage? Did normal coins never feature the same person twice? 208.95.51.53 (talk) 12:27, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Any American coinage. But at that point, the only regular coinage to honor someone was the Lincoln cent. Washington, Jefferson, Lafayette, Queen Isabella and Columbus had each been honored on one commemorative.--Wehwalt (talk) 12:33, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Values need to be updated[edit]

In the last paragraph of the "Distribution and collecting" section, the collector values need to be updated. My 2016 'Yeoman' (p. 239) has the 1917 issue in MS66 at "$2,850" -- a change/drop of $400 in just one year (the other mentioned values stayed the same). Imagine what the changes could be over 4 to 5 years. Obviously, a 2020 'Yeoman' edition should be checked. 2600:8800:784:8F00:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 16:55, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not reimbursed for my book purchases so I only buy every few years.--Wehwalt (talk) 04:58, 17 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Same here, although I do have a slightly newer edition. Since this is a Featured Article (congrats to all the contributors!), I am hesitant to edit it without input from other WP:NUMIS members. I created a sandbox page at User:Markworthen/sandbox/McKinley. If you (anyone reading this post and who has been involved with this article) believe it's a worthwhile addition, feel free to copy and paste the wikitext and modify as you see fit. I'm also happy to do it if I get a "sounds good" from other WP:NUMIS folks.   - Mark D Worthen PsyD (talk) (I am a man. The traditional male pronouns are fine.) 02:58, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. I referred to the text as R. S. Yeoman's 2017 "Mega Red" deluxe edition of A Guide Book of United States Coins because (a) there are now multiple editions of the "Red Book" each year so I think it helps readers to know which one we're referencing; and (b) OCLC (WorldCat) lists the title as "A guide book of United States coins mega red 2017".   - Mark D Worthen PsyD (talk) (I am a man.
