Name[edit]

I've moved the article to a new name, the May 19th Coalition, because this is the one that seems to be used the most by the largest reliable sources, e.g. this one.[1] However, there are sources for a number of different names, if you google around. It appears that different law enforcement people, organization members, and writers used different names at different times. I guess that goes with the territory. I don't have the connection bandwidth or time to sort this all out but it would be nice to see a sourced run-down. With a group defunct as long as this one, this article and the various Wikipedia mirror sites pop up as the most common google mentions, so whatever name we use gets disseminated across the web and may be the one that sticks publicly, thus a self-fulfilling thing. - Wikidemon (talk) 20:42, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What makes you say that "May 19th Coalition" is used the most by the largest reliable sources? If you search google books (which contains a lot of reliable sources and not many wikipedia mirrors) there are 24 results for "May 19th Coalition"[2] and 160 for "May 19th Communist Organization"[3]. Google news archive has seven results for the former[4] and 46 for the latter,[5] including big papers like the Chicago Tribune,[6].Prezbo (talk) 08:55, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if there's a reliable source out there that explicitly states what the most common name is, but in the meantime the disparity in search results is big enough that it's clear "May 19th Communist Organization" would be a better title than "May 19th Coalition."Prezbo (talk) 08:58, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I thought May 19th was an above ground iteration of these terrorist groups? Thus I think it's inaccurate to go too far in imputing these acts to them anymore than it is to impute the IRAs acts to Sinn Fein; although they may have approved of those deeds, they did not personally carry them out or have prior knowledge of them.

Neutrality[edit]

I have again removed the unattributed use of "terrorist" from the lead, per MOS:TERRORIST. FDW777 (talk) 13:43, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The section entitled "Impact" is also lacking in WP:NPOV, but rather reflects a federal government law enforcement agency perspective, including the self-serving claim that official investigative measures against "domestic terrorism" steer clear of First Amendment violations. Unrelated preview (semi-gore) image on hover-over from other page[edit]

First time posting on Wikipedia: When I hover over this page from any outside page linking to it (such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assata_Shakur), the preview does not at all match the page. It shows a graphic image of what seems to be a medical procedure of some kind of surgery. I tried to look in the editing page to see where this would be, but I have no clue, so I hope someone else knows how to fix this.
