Removal of photo[edit]

An editor has recently removed a photograph of the subject of this article, supposedly at the request of the subject. Given that the subject is a public figure, and given that we are encouraged to include photographs of the subjects, and given that we have a photograph with the appropriate permissions, I am not sure that this is appropriate. --Nat Gertler (talk) 20:09, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

BLP[edit]

Please note that per Wikipedia's WP:BLP policies, we cannot publish unconfirmed allegations about the salacious backstory behind his resignation as ED of Pride, and neither can we source those allegations to Facebook posts or blogs. Claims like the ones that were added to this article today are not appropriate Wikipedia content until such time as they are (a) confirmed and not merely alleged, and (b) sourced very carefully to reliable source coverage in real media. Wikipedia is not the town stocks; it is not our role to publish poorly sourced negative information about what people might have done. Bearcat (talk) 14:50, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've updated this article to include multiple mainstream media articles[1][2][3] on Mathieu's exit from the Pride Toronto organization. This is well within BLP policy as this is well-sourced and legally unchallenged for several years. Exilewhat (talk) 03:32, 13 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

"unverified"[edit]

I removed a claim that allegations against the subject had been "unverified"; while individual sources say that they themselves were unable to verify, at best that would be a claim that those particular sources were unable to verify it; we do not have the information to put in Wikipedia's voice that no one was able to. Since they are specifically described as "allegations", it is clear that we are not asserting the accuracy of those allegations. --Nat Gertler (talk) 18:20, 23 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Edits by Blipblip88[edit]

I think User:Blipblip88 is Mathieu himself, or someone closely affiliated with him.

In Aug 2018 Mathieu sanitizes his page under his own name: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Mathieu_Chantelois&type=revision&diff=853283903&oldid=845679634

It's reverted, for COI reasons. Almost immediately after, and then continuously, we see edits from User:Blipblip88 doing nothing but positive edits.

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mathieu_Chantelois.jpg is a selfie, uploaded by Blipblip88.

All of his edits are on Mathieu's article. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Blipblip88

Blipblip88 is not Mathieu, nor is it someone closely affiliated with Mathieu (whatever that means).
