Influences[edit]

The gebouw-t.nl site says they were influenced by Malo, Eszeca and El Chicano. Malo and El Chicano are obvious. See article: ‘We werden vergeleken met Santana, maar die kenden we destijds niet eens’ A search in Discogs for Eszeca brings up nothing. So I searched for Escena and got Escena. They had a song "Altamira" which appears on the 1973 Venezuelan compilation, Canciorema, released on Top Hits TH-1075. There's also Grupo Escena (2). This brings up their single, "Altamira" / "Triste" which was released on Top Hits H-3236 the same year. It was produced by Rudy Marquez. On the William Venes channel, you can hear "Altamira" by Escena. ESCENA - ALTAMIRA ( PECOS KANVAS "Hector Jesus Gonzalez" - miembro de este grupo de Venezuela ) - YouTube. It's also on the Sofia Store channel. Grupo Escena / Altamira.

Listening to the song, I'd say it would be one that would have influenced Massada. So it's likely the article meant Escena when they printed Eszeca. Some more info here.
