Assessment comment[edit]

Hi, for a higher assessment the article needs to be expanded with content from reliable sources. Best Hekerui (talk) 07:58, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

National Philharmonic?[edit]

What does Along with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the National Philharmonic mean? The resident orchestra in Washington, DC, is the National Symphony Orchestra. National Philharmonic is a redirect to a defunct British orchestra. Clarification, please. --DThomsen8 (talk) 00:20, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

==> Hello, DThomsen8. In response to your inquiry, the National Symphony Orchestra resides at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Although non-intuitive, the BSO does in fact perform regularly at Strathmore Hall. In this context, the National Philharmonic, despite its name, is rather a local ensemble. According to its web site, found at http://nationalphilharmonic.org, "A judicious merging of the National Chamber Orchestra and Masterworks Chorus on July 1, 2003 created the National Philharmonic, an ensemble with a 55-year combined history of high caliber musical performances in the local area." I do not know of an existing Wikipedia page for this particular National Philharmonic. --NetCast (talk) 02:27, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect info[edit]

In the first paragraph it states 400 students from 4 to 12th grade.

The correct grades are now 3 to 12th grade. I do not have any written source, but I am a member of one of these youth orchestras. I did not edit/add it because it already had a nice reference source, but it is now outdated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.255.23.186 (talk) 18:13, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, it is indeed 3-12[1], I've corrected the page. Cheers! Sophus Bie (talk) 18:22, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
