...and I saw one for sale today for $900...what to do? Jimmy Wales, can I borrow $900, and in return you can have this fine article? Drmies (talk) 02:25, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Inaccuracies[edit]

There are two inaccuracies standing out here. The first is that the amp is 45W, which it is not. Although this was the intention when it was built it actually outputs 30-38W.

The second inaccuracy is in this quote: "The amp was also available as a bass (which lacked a "bright" switch)". The amp does not have a bright switch but instead has a fixed brightness capacitor within the circuit. One word change could put this right. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.120.161.6 (talk) 09:08, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

if you're going to steam in with something like that, you'd better be able to back it up. your link is dead. there is no 'bright switch' on the marshall, not this one. never has been. it's a 'bright' input, with a different frequency characteristic to the 'normal' input, just like the man says. are you going to insist on another citation? would you like to see the schematic?

The Reissue model number is actually 2245: http://www.marshallamps.com/product.asp?productCode=2245(JTM45)

Marshall JTM 45Marshall JTM45 – Vast majority of sources, including those cited in the article and in Marshall literature, refer to it as the JTM45, with no space. Jprg1966 (talk) 20:10, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Plexi?[edit]

Is it not nicknamed the Plexi in English? Maikel (talk) 20:55, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

yes, though strictly this applies to instances of the model with a control panel (front & rear) made from plexiglass with gold painting. when this was replaced by a metal control panel, that was then end of the 'plexi' soubriquet, though not the sound.

Not to tread on too many toes here, but...[edit]

Soo.. I've attempted to edit this page a little.

Perhaps an inital mention in the introduction of the huge influence of Marshall on popular music in general (for the casual reader) might be useful ? It seems strange that the amp is described in such a neutral manner in the introduction - we're talking about MARSHALL AMPS here, after all.......

Also, Pete Townshend and Ritchie Blackmore are introduced rather suddenly without much apparent explanation... (although this is made clearer on the main Marshall Wiki page) Richard Move (talk) 22:22, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

OK, the sacrilege continues, I've put a brief list of notable musicians further up the page.... Richard Move (talk) 22:48, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
