COI Banner - WIKI page about me - trying to make improvements[edit]

Hello - my name is Marshall Hall, and this particular WIKI page is about me. I haven't, honestly, paid much attention to it until recently. I noticed it didn't follow similar structure and information as most other artist pages do. In my attempts to help with the page (adding tables, infobox,etc...), I learned more about wikipedia than I ever knew:) It is my intent to help this page be accurate, well sourced, informative, and structurally in keeping with other artist pages. Please inform me as to how I might do this while upholding wikipedia's assertion for accuracy and integrity.

I am awaiting assistance.

Thank you, Marshallkiphall (talk) 02:01, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the COI banner. The issues seem resolved to me, though I guess other people may disagree. I think the major problem was the lack of sourcing, but I found sources for most of the stuff that was added. The least controversial way to edit the article would be for you to use the {{Request edit}} template. If you see something that's obviously wrong, though, you should feel free to fix it. There's no reason why you should have to wait around for someone to remove defamation. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 19:16, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Updates / Changes to Marshall Hall (singer)[edit]

My name is Marshall Hall - I would like to humbly suggest some changes/additions to the information contained in this wiki page. In an effort to uphold the integrity of the wikipedia project, I will make suggestions to the page (as it is about me) and let the consensus rule the outcome. Thank you so much for considering

Could the opening of the page be changed to the following:

Marshall Kip Hall (born December 30, 1970) is an American singer, songwriter, and producer. He is best known for his time as a member of the Gaither Vocal Band, and his appearances on the Bill Gaither Homecoming tours and Gaither Homecoming video series.

Could the Infobox contain the following:

Image: Marshall Hall Publicity 2.jpg Image caption: Hall - Chicago (2015) Birth name: Marshall Kip Hall Origin: leave this section blank Genre: Gospel : Contemporary Christian : Worship Instrument: Vocals : Piano : Guitar Years active: 1992 to present Associated acts: Gaither Vocal Band : Bill Gaither Website: marshallhallmusic.com

Thank you for your consideration. Marshallkiphall (talk) 05:15, 21 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Done The infobox requests that the origin be filled in with some value, even if it's just the country. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 00:15, 23 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you!

I have a couple other additions to be considered.

In the Awards section - GMA Dove Awards: 2005 Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year - A Picture Of Grace - Nominated

2007 Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year - Give It Away - Won

Another question for you - is it okay for me to submit rewording of text?

Thank youMarshallkiphall (talk) 21:10, 23 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Done Sure, you can suggest anything, but some people aren't as easy-going as me. Honestly, I think they're a bit too strict about the whole COI thing, but that's just my opinion. If you take a look at this guideline, it'll probably tell you more than you ever wanted to know about how Wikipedia views promotional wording. If you can avoid words like "acclaimed", "amazing", "best-selling", and "award-winning", it should be pretty easy to get your changes in the article. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 01:21, 24 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Got it:)!

Is it possible to have the RESULTS section in the Grammy Awards section have color as in the GMA Dove section?

@Marshallkiphall It would be great to mention your appearance in People Who Sing that was recorded in Canada. I watch the repeats every Friday. it is wonderful and I am definitely more Christian from watching it! It's a wonderful programme.
