Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because the artist(Markus Raetz) has been to many major exhibitions. 6 languages has this article. Make a web search and you'll see. https://www.google.com.tr/search?q=Markus+Raetz --Kafkasmurat (talk) 00:15, 23 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've declined the speedy because the exhibitions are enough to pass a speedy deletion. The problem is that saying that he has articles on foreign language Wikipedias (such as the German entry) isn't a particularly good argument because we all have different standards for notability. Some are more lax, some are more strict. You must show notability for Raetz by placing any reliable sources covering him on the article. Asserting that they exist somewhere on the internet is not good enough. Google hits do not count towards notability- only coverage in reliable sources do. You must show these sources in the article, otherwise you run the risk of others nominating the page for deletion. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 07:49, 23 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Tokyogirl79 Thanks for the intervention. The artist has tens of comments at educational and government sites. I added some .edu links. If it's not enough we may find more. --Kafkasmurat (talk) 09:21, 23 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
