Article name[edit]

This artical seems to be mainly about the tankers bombing...shouldent the artical be renamed more appropiatly or even split in too. --Boris Johnson VC 10:46, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I agree, plus nobody knows the incident as the Maritime Jewel bombing. PirateHunter 14:55, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Repair costs[edit]

"The damage to the tanker was around $45 million USD. The ship was sold to Tanker Pacific by 2003 under the new name Maritime Jewel, who repaired her for $8.5 million USD". Contradiction - damage was around $45 million USD but was repaired for $8.5 million USD? User: Toomutch — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.78.73.29 (talk) 12:44, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. Dodgy insurance claim? Batternut (talk) 14:14, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Neither figure, $45 million USD nor $8.5 million USD, is mentioned in any of the references; both were unreferenced when added to the article, both additions anonymous. I've searched but found no reliable source for a damage or repair figure, and have removed them from the article. Batternut (talk) 21:23, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
