Living?[edit]

If it's true that he is still alive, it suggests an excellent trivia question: how many South African presidents are currently alive? With Botha gone, that leaves De Klerk, Mandela, Mbeki, and (apparently) Viljoen, but hardly anyone will include Viljoen in their answer. Zaian 10:05, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The question is no longer relevant as his death was announced today. Zaian 10:31, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting that the obituary obviously got quite a bit of its text directly from this page.Zaian 10:46, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

5th and 7th president?[edit]

Was Viljoen really the 5th and 7thpresidents? See Talk:Pieter_Willem_Botha#8th_president.3F for a discussion on the numbering.Greenman (talk) 12:44, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Date confusion[edit]

The intro and the infobox give different dates for the end of his Presidency. This inconsistency is also reflected in President of South Africa - see the recent edit history there. Roger (talk) 09:32, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
