Kari Alifrosti (University) has also presented his description about the manttaali, but in this wikipedia there's an idiot bot running amok (its rssponsible, some admin, announces that he is only rarely in Wikipedia and does not respond swiftly) which blindly removes the link to Alifrosti material and to everything else too. 82.181.234.211 (talk) 17:56, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just to mention, Kari Alifrosti is a university researcher of local and administrative history of early modern and medieval era of Finland. As such, evem his "self-published" material would be acceptable because he should be regardes as an established expert on those topics whose work in the relevant field has previously been published by reliable third-party publications. 82.181.234.211 (talk) 20:52, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Article of No Subjective importance - Layers of problems previously tagged - A definition?[edit]

I provided a concise first sentence for this entry based on the content within. Essentially I am trying to "define" an obsolete term.

My judgement is that this definition is Not Notable.

The article may need more work or even a rewrite, but a merge is not a good idea, especially not a merge to that page. It is a Swedish term, not a Finnish one. It is also an historically rather important unit underlying much of Swedish taxation for hundreds of years and the historical sources resulting from such taxation, in turn relevant for economic historians, cultural geographers and amateur genealogists alike. Here is an explanation in an older Swedish encyclopaedia. The number of hits from a search of Projekt Runeberg alone gives some indication of how important the term is. While not Finnish, it is also relevant for Finland because Finland was part of Sweden for several hundred years. (The source currently cited by an "M. Sjöström" seems to come from an obscure American publication and I can only see an abstract of the article. There are almost certainly better in-depth treatments by Swedish historians that could be used.) --Hegvald (talk) 12:49, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
