To the person who keeps removing Caribou. Why do you keep removing it? Qutezuce 09:08, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I support Qutezuce's position - this page needs the Caribou/Manitoba disambiguation. I came to the page to find Caribou/Manitoba not the other options. Hu Gadarn 14:51, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The current vandalizer, 209.196.192.7, is using an IP address registered to Sirius Satellite Radio -- Search ARIN WHOIS for: 209.196.192.7. I've saved a copy of that page. In my opinion, this appears to be someone with a WP:POINT to make and a personal dislike of the third entry. ArglebargleIV 22:38, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

For the record, so far, 209.196.192.7 has 5 identical content-removing edits in an hour, and the same edit as 205.188.116.139's 14 edits last night. ArglebargleIV 22:41, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

So, we have someone with a Sirius Satellite Radio IP address who has an interest in a "R. Manitoba", of Sirius Radio. Coincidence or just kind of sad? Either way, it's anoying how our friend from Sirius wants to rewrite history to eliminate Dan Snaith's contribution to music under the (former) moniker "Manitoba" Hu Gadarn 04:10, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks to AmiDaniel for a rapid and welcome response to the request that this page be protected. Hu Gadarn 05:00, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Noting the Sirius Radio IP address, I looked at the Handsome Dick article and found this: "Manitoba also has his own show, "The Handsome Dick Manitoba Program" on Little Steven Van Zandt's Underground Garage channel, on Sirius Satellite Radio." Hu 17:47, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I checked but didn't see this (perhaps it's been removed). Hu Gadarn 23:01, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Detail on R. Manitoba?[edit]

Do we need so much detail on R. Manitoba on the disambiguation page? Isn't it enough to list him as a "punk rocker" (term seems dated) and DJ? I don't think the addition of what bands he played with and the detail of his current radio program are necessary on this page. The article on R. Manitoba seems the correct place for this. Thoughts? Manitoba (band)[edit]

Re this revert - I accept that it's a double, since both end up in the same place. However, since Richard Manitoba's band have reverted to the Manitoba name (see https://tmblr.co/Z94OEw2NTI9uq ) there is now a difference between Manitoba the band, and Manitoba the person. Perhaps it would be better to just put the band in (piped to Richard Manitoba, and take out the entire 'People with surname' section, famous DJ or no? I missed this recent news, but I see what you are saying. Probably a redirect to the person and the band can co-exist (for now), which are preferred over piped links (MOS:DABPIPE). I've provided two kinds of "Manitoba (band)" redirects with "American" and "Canadian" variations (e.g. HIM#In music). +mt 02:04, 10 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
