Age[edit]

As LB played Lucy Lloyd in Next of Kin at the National Theatre in 1974, and Anya in The Cherry Orchard in 1977, she really can't have been born in 1965. Anya is stated in the play's cast list to be aged seventeen, and in a professional production she is not going to be played by someone aged less than that. I see from the history that at this edit someone claiming to know LB edited her year of birth to 1959. May I suggest we should delete the year for now? We don't have a reliable source for 1965, which clearly can't be correct, so we are better admitting we don't know. Moonraker2 (talk) 17:08, 24 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If an actor has the ability they can play a given role no matter what their age is. I first saw her in the TV version of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and she wasn't 19 so I don't think that the 59 date can be right either. Having said that I agree that we do need a reliable source before entering a birth year. User:Gamaliel has tracked this kind of info down in other articles though I don't know if he would be interested in doing do here. MarnetteD | Talk 21:53, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I should say LB was a teenager in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, and given The Cherry Orchard in 1977 the date must be around 1960. Anyway, we clearly can't base our article on such guesses. If someone happens to come along with a reliable source for the actual date and adds it, that will be fine. As this is a BLP for an actress, at an age when work is getting hard to find, might it not be over-zealous to be going out of our way to nail the date down?
