Hall and Oates[edit]

I am curious to hear what anyone might have to say to the 1975 Hall and Oates song 'Grounds For Separation' which has the lyrics "But isn’t it a bit like oxygen, too much’ll make you high, but not enough'll make you die. So I gotta keep it under control”.

Robert Fripp produced Hall’s first solo album in 1977, and said that he had been aware of Hall and Oates’ music back to 1974 which was early in their career. Then they charted with 'She’s Gone’ on Hall and Oates (the album) that the aforementioned song was also on. I say this to point out that they were getting international attention at the time of the song. Sweet was, for sure, a huge success in UK at that time, but could have easily heard the ‘Grounds For Separation’ due to the success of ’She’s Gone’. Curious to hear a discussion on this. 108.36.82.141 (talk) 06:16, 29 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
