Amazon Sellout[edit]

Here's what Amazon stated on their website today, 4 February 2008: "We are delighted to let you know that LoveFilm will acquire Amazon's DVD rental business, and that we will now also become a shareholder of LoveFilm, subject to regulatory approval. For the moment, you don't have to do anything; you'll continue to receive our great service as usual.

LoveFilm has Europe's widest range of titles to choose from, with over 65,000 films and games in its collection, along with news, features and movie trailers. We are excited to combine our efforts for the benefit of film lovers."

A press release can be found on LoveFilm's website. AndrewRH (talk)

I propose that we move LOVEFiLM to simply LoveFilm because the article name violates WP:CAPS,WP:TM and WP:MOS, plus this trademark is simply not practical for use when linking the article in a subject.--EclipseSSD (talk) 20:10, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suggest semi-protect?[edit]

Hi - because of the LoveFilm affiliate scheme, there's a lot of advert-link stuff being constantly added to this page. Would it be helpful to semi-protect this page? --mcld (talk) 16:50, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

The result of this discussion was to merge FunkyCanute (talk) 16:29, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I propose that ScreenSelect be merged into LoveFilm. I think that the content in the ScreenSelect article can easily be explained in the context of LoveFilm, and the LoveFilm article is of a reasonable size in which the merging of ScreenSelect will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FunkyCanute (talkcontribs) 08:16, 14 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The discussion above is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

Another merger proposal - Lovefilm player[edit]

Lovefilm player is an unsourced single sentence and should become a redirect to this article with its minimal content rewritten, sourced, and added to the article. PamD 07:36, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Change needed to Universal Dispute[edit]

This matter how has been resolved so needs updating. Sadly I can't remember how you do that properly. LOVEFiLM UK still alive as Amazon UK's DVD rental business[edit]

While it's true that the streaming service was rebranded Amazon Prime Instant Video, the UK DVD rental business is still very much alive (31 Oct 2015), although they just announced they'd drop existing members' cheaper packages in February 2016: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/bypost/storefront TigerDE2 (talk) 11:32, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
