Pronunciation

How is this town/region pronounced locally? The article currently says (Lou-tun), which is not IPA but seems to me to suggest that it is /ˈluːtən/ (rhyming with lou or loo). However, this article http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A19773499 appears to suggest that it is /ˈloʊtən/ (rhyming with low). Can someone confirm which it is? Or both/either? Or something else?? Neither is to be confused, of course, with Loughton, Essex, which is /ˈlaʊtən/... Mooncow (talk) 21:12, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

It's 'lou' as in 'lousy'. Could you put that into IPA? ninety:one 21:38, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

That'll be /ˈlaʊtən/, the same as the Essex place. Is there a specific reason you used "lousy" as the example? I'll amend the article. -- role^player 11:50, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
