Verifiability of participation of an extinct de facto state in a 2022 war[edit]

Does the ChRI even still exist?

Well, the two theories for state existence are the declarative theory and the constitutive theory. Seems like ChRI meets neither. ChRI is not recognized by a single entity. As for Ukraine's possible recognition: "Zelenskyy responded to the Verkhovna Rada's vote and a petition with 25,000 signatures by ordering the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to research if, how, and in which form Ukraine could recognize the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. He emphasized that it was the Ukrainian President's prerogative to extend full diplomatic recognition to other states." i.e., no recognition. ChRI also hasn't controlled any territory or population or had any effective control over them since 2000.

And regardless, the very lead of the CHRI article says this: "The Chechen Republic of Ichkeria [...] was [emphasis mine] a de facto state that controlled most of the former Checheno-Ingush ASSR. [...] Since the 2000s, several entities have claimed [emphasis mine] to be an exile government of Ichkeria." Its description in the wiki search says "former unrecognized country". Enwiki itself makes it clear this was a state that no longer exists.

So why is a 2022 war listed as a ChRI-participatory war? Do any RS state this, or do they instead state that one of the aforementioned-several entities claiming to be an exile government is participating? Not even the Russo-Ukrainian War page or the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine page lists ChRI as participating.

I will remove the 2022 war from the page. If other editors revert it or wish to do so, then discuss here.
