Attempted changes just made.[edit]

I wanted to move the temples scheduled for dedication to the top of the under construction list. I managed to do so. I even changed the numbering on the templates. But for some reason, the old numbering still shows on the templates when we view them on this page. Yet, if I go to the actual templates, the correct number is displayed. What is causing this discrepancy? HELP! Thanks in advance. --Jgstokes (talk) 08:55, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like they are showing correctly now. I used one of the purge options to essentially reset or refresh the article. Thanks for your efforts. ChristensenMJ (talk) 16:27, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, ChristensenMJ. That totally fixed the problem I mentioned. I appreciate your help. Thanks again! --Jgstokes (talk) 19:41, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Mexico City Mexico Temple[edit]

I noticed that the template for the Mexico City Mexico temple makes no mention whatsoever of its most recent closure. It was closed again on January 6 of this year for extensive renovation and is expected to be completed and rededicated late next year. See this article for further details. This information should be added to the template ASAP, but I'm not sure how to list it there. HELP! Thanks. --Jgstokes (talk) 01:01, 19 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Took a look at how Ogden's template was set up and altered Mexico City's template based upon that. It appears I was able to take care of this myself. How does it look? --Jgstokes (talk) 00:04, 20 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fort Lauderdale Florida Temple.[edit]

The Fort Lauderdale Florida Temple was dedicated today by Dieter F. Uchtdorf. I was able to get this temple moved to the correct section and get the template edited, but now there is a weird symbol by the temple name that I can't get rid of. HELP! Thanks in advance. --Jgstokes (talk) 23:10, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks to ChristensenMJ for his help in fixing this. Once again, you have saved me from a HUGE problem I couldn't fix myself. Thanks again. I owe you big time! --Jgstokes (talk) 01:59, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your work and efforts, Jgstokes. I hope you received a return message I sent you last night! Thanks again! ChristensenMJ (talk) 02:04, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I did indeed. Thanks for your prompt response. I was glad to hear I hadn't angered or offended you in any way. Thanks again! --Jgstokes (talk) 02:08, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Montreal Quebec Temple[edit]

According to ldschurchtemples.com, the Montreal Quebec Temple has been closed for renovation and is expected to reopen in September 2015. I attempted to update the LDS Church Temple status template with the latest information, but for some reason the updated isn't reflected in the template when I look at articles that contain it. Additionally, I inserted the information about the closure in the template for this temple, but it's not showing up. I don't know how to fix these errors. Please help me! Thanks. --Jgstokes (talk) 07:24, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

My thanks to whoever fixed the templatea so the changes I made were visible on the relevant templates. I don't know how it got messed up or how it was fixed, so someone really bailed me out. Thanks again! --Jgstokes (talk) 05:28, 5 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Paris France Temple: Under Construction without formal groundbreaking[edit]

I am starting this topic because of this article. According to what the article says, the Paris France Temple is now under construction. Once I saw this article, I went to ldschurchtemples.com to see if I could find any groundbreaking information. None was listed, though I noticed that the temple is now listed in the "under construction" category, and was posted with a progress report and a tentative completion date. So I contacted the webmaster of the site for more information, and he said that the work has apparently started without a formal groundbreaking. This has only happened once before, for the Tokyo Japan Temple and is generally done only when the people of a certain area object to a formal gathering to start construction on a new temple. This temple is therefore under construction now, and I am listing it as such. I was thinking what we could do is cite the lds.org article for verification and use the ldschurchtemples.com reference for those seeking further information. Thoughts? --Jgstokes (talk) 04:21, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have no problem or issues with your proposal.Dmm1169 (talk) 13:50, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Meridian Idaho Temple Groundbreaking.[edit]

According to this article, the Meridian Idaho Temple groundbreaking will take place on August 23 at 10 am, though it is unclear who will preside at that groundbreaking. I was able to enter this information into the template and reorder and renumber the templates accordingly, and was even able to get them to show the proper numbers through a page purge or two. But then I somehow inserted a template parameters table in two places in the article, one over the map and one between the Meridian Idaho and Concepcion Chile Temple Templates. I tried several page purges and even tried a page reset or two but to no avail. The pesky template parameters table is there to stay unless someone with more Wikipedia experience than me knows how to fix it. Any help anyone can give would be appreciated. --Jgstokes (talk) 06:10, 19 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind. Took a backdoor approach. I went to a previous version of the page and remade the edit, though the remake doesn't show in the history. This eliminated the problem. Thanks anyways. --Jgstokes (talk) 06:23, 19 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Open House and Dedication Dates announced for Cordoba Argentina Temple and Payson Utah Temple.[edit]

In a double announcement, the Church has given us the open house and dedication dates for the Cordoba Argentina and Payson Utah temples. I have added this information to the relevant templates, along with renumbering the under construction temples to reflect this latest information. Exciting news! --Jgstokes (talk) 02:15, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Mobile Readability/Formatting Problems[edit]

FYI folks: the temple list has significant readability/formatting issues when viewed on an iPhone in Safari (iOS 8.3), especially in portrait mode. This may or may not also be the case on other small screens (I haven't tested other devices). Word wrapping is causing labels (Rededication, Coordinates, et. al.) to become misaligned with values for those data points. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dm06851 (talkcontribs) 11:33, 31 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Durban South Africa Temple Groundbreaking/Ground broken for the Barranquilla Colombia Temple[edit]

According to this link, the groundbreaking date has been announced for the Durban South Africa temple. And according to this article, ground has been broken for the Barranquilla Colombia Temple. I tried to update these temples' templates with the information, including updating the numbering of temples in view of these announcements, but it didn't work. Any help that could be given with this issue would be appreciated. Also, the Church News reports that President Henry B. Eyring is in Suva Fiji to rededicate the temple there on Sunday. What an exciting time for temple announcements! --Jgstokes (talk) 07:21, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New temples announced 4/3/16[edit]

Hello. I attempted to add the four temples announced by Thomas S. Monson today, but for some reason, the system isn't showing the listing for the 2nd temple in Lima Peru. I don't know what else we could call it except the "Second Lima Pery Temple". But I keep getting an error. Any thoughts on how we can resolve it?

My recent edit messed up a template[edit]

Hello. I was pleased to see that the official name of the second Lima Peru Temple, the Lima Peru Los Olivos Temple, was listed here. But when I attempted to actually put the name of the new temple here, it somehow merged the listing of that name with the previous temple. Not sure how to fix it. HELP! For now, I have undone my edit so the page isn't messed up. Thanks. --Jgstokes (talk) 04:04, 23 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Tried to fix it, but I just messed it up even worse. HELP! Thanks. --Jgstokes (talk) 04:08, 23 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Just figured out how to fix the problem, but in the process, I accidentally created an article for the temple and duplicated the template on it. If this issue can be fixed by editing or deleting the unintentional article, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. --Jgstokes (talk) 04:21, 23 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Should we consider reordering the under construction/announced temples?[edit]

I am posting to inquire whether it would be worthwhile to list these temples in the order in which they are anticipated to be completed. It makes no sense to me that temples that aren't expected to be completed until as late as 2018 or 2019 are ahead of temples that are expected to be completed next year, simply because their groundbreakings happened earlier. I would suggest ordering the under construction/announced temples in a similar or identical manner to the way they are listed on the LDS Church Temples website. This would mean that the under construction and announced temples would be listed as being in this order:

Under construction: 156. Paris France Temple (anticipated to be completed in mid-2017). 157. Meridian Idaho Temple (anticipated to be completed in late 2017). 158. Cedar City Utah Temple (anticipated to be completed in late 2017). 159. Tucson Arizona Temple (anticipated to be completed in late 2017). 160. Rome Italy Temple (anticipated to be completed in 2018). 161. Concepcion Chile Temple (anticipated to be completed in 2018). 162. Fortaleza Brazil Temple (anticipated to be completed in 2018 or 2019). 163. Kinshasa DR Congo Temple (anticipated to be completed in 2018 or 2019). 164. Durban South Africa Temple (anticipated to be completed in 2018 or 2019). 165. Barranquilla Colombia Temple (anticipated to be completed in 2019). 166.Lisbon Portugal Temple (anticipated to be completed in 2019; full scale construction has not yet begun).

Announced: 167. Arequipa Peru Temple (general contractor has been selected and construction is anticipated to begin in October 2016). 168. Rio de Janeiro Brazil Temple (is in construction preparation phase; groundbreaking may be announced soon and scheduled for sometime after the Summer Olympics in Rio). 169. Urdaneta Philippines Temple (though no site has been officially announced, the temple is in the planning and approval phase). 170. Winnepeg Manitoba Temple (same as above) 171. Port-au-Prince Haiti Temple (same as above) 172. Bangkok Thailand Temple (same as above). 173. Abidjan Ivory Coast Temple (still in planning phase). 174. Quito Ecuador Temple (same as above). 175. Harare Zimbabwe Temple (same as above). 176. Belem Brazil Temple (same as above). 177. Lima Peru Los Olivos Temple (same as above).
