Origin Of This Storm Name[edit]

I seem to have heard it somewhere, not sure where, the name Earl was originally added to the list at the end of the 1970's to replace another name that started with an "E" and was probably retired. Do not know what name was retired or how that happened, but it could possibly be relevant to this article. Thank-You!!!Lesbrown99 (talk) 14:18, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tad late of a reply but the name Earl was introduced to the lists after new naming lists were created with alternating male and female names, with the first year using the new lists being 1979.
