Merge[edit]

I wouldnt say so. Several countries have an article about their sports venues in general; and other articles about stadiums used for a specific sport. Because most large Australian stadiums host several different sports it isnt possible to sort List of sports venues in Australia by sport. If someone was looking for info on just soccer stadiums in Australia this article would be more usefull than List of sports venues in Australia. Especially if we expand and improve it. Silly, biased article[edit]

What on earth is this article on about?

The first item on the list, the MCG, is allegedly "...also used for Australian rules football...and cricket". What rubbish. It is PRIMARILY used for Australian rules football and cricket, and very rarely for soccer. The perspective presented to the world is ridiculous. HiLo48 (talk) 10:31, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is primarily due to the national team not having a dedicated home ground - as opposed to most clubs, which do. I added some info in the lead to clarify. I'll also expand the list in the coming days (there's at least 50+ state league stadiums I could add).--2nyte (talk) 04:19, 30 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help. I still think it's a bit misleading to list the MCG (like some other grounds that aren't primarily soccer grounds) as soccer stadiums, and then say that it's shared by other sporting codes. The MCG would be used for cricket probably 30 days a year, and Aussie Rules 25 days a year. Soccer would occur there maybe once a year at most; some years not at all. It's fine to say the ground is used for soccer, but it's not very often. I think the article should reflect that reality. HiLo48 (talk) 05:55, 30 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Whether football is played once a year or 365 days a year in a particular stadium, I don't think we're misleading anyone. This is a List of soccer stadiums in Australia, not a List of stadiums in Australia that are used more times for soccer then other sporting codes. To further clarify this we explain that the stadiums are not specific to one sporting code and that the nation team shares various large stadia across the country. We are simply stating stadiums used, and by which team(s). If readers want to investigate further that what the hyperlinks are there for.--2nyte (talk) 06:25, 30 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Stop being a smart arse. Football is played at the MCG 25 times a year by football clubs 150 years old which are members of the Australian Football League. You know the name football makes no sense as a name for soccer when referring to the MCG. And you really do seem to want to hide the fact that soccer is a very minor user of the MCG. I am beginning to again reach the point where I cannot assume good faith. Let's reflect reality, not what you want the world to think. HiLo48 (talk) 08:12, 30 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
