The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that the largest Hindu temple in South East England is being built in Crawley, where 3.4% of residents are Hindu compared to 1.1% in England as a whole?

Explanation of rating[edit]

The article is well written, with full citations and follows the Wikipedia style manual. I cannot see any fault with it. To an outsider it seems to fully cover the subject.

The purpose of my basic assessment was to give it a class, in which I am limited to either Stub, Start or C. The C grade indicates that the article is complete and will just need a final push to start it on the road to FA status. Note, that the C grade is my own personal opinion, others may disagree.

One problem with the article is that it is new and not many editors have been involved. I am not saying there is a problem, but that could lead to some bias and errors creeping in. To improve its class, you will need to get more independent to give it a critical read. When you think you are at that stage, just post a message at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Sussex, Wikipedia talk:WikiProject UK geography and any other relevant projects (is there a church project?) asking for some help and suggestions.

St John the Baptist Crawley[edit]

The co-ordinates seem to be slightly out, right on the edge of the churchyard. From the NLS OS maps, I make it 51.1141°N 0.1888°W, and Google's marker agrees. --Pfold (talk) 17:58, 16 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Salvation Army Citadel[edit]

On the 1961 OS 1:2500 map the building listed here as the Salvation Army Citadel is in fact marked as the British Legion Club. A building further east along the street at 51.1139°N 0.1935°N is marked as "S A Hall" (Google Earth shows the site is now a car park). The 1910 25" map confirms this: the British Legion Club plot is actually empty and the more easterly building is marked "S. A. Barracks". Is there another source for the precise location of the Hall? Or did the SA move along the road sometime after 1961, perhaps when the car park was created? --Pfold (talk) 12:04, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I need to do some more investigation on this one. I remember it was a "late entry" to the list because I thought it had gone, but then (from memory) I found a source indicating it was in the building pictured here.
