Roberto Benigni[edit]

You bring up an interesting point. However, I believe (I could be wrong) that the winner of the Best Foreign Film award is actually the country itself, and not a specific individual. In this case, I believe that Benigni merely accepted the award on behalf of the winning country (Italy). If my belief is correct, then Benigni does not belong on the list in this article. In other words, Benigni won the Best Actor award, but he did not win the Best Foreign Film award. Thanks. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 07:12, 16 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I just double checked. The article for Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film states: "Unlike other Academy Awards, the Best Foreign Language Film Award is not presented to a specific individual. It is accepted by the winning film's director, but is considered an award for the submitting country as a whole.". So, Benigni himself did not win two awards.
