Which record?[edit]

"broke a twenty one year old record" for what? Largest ferrari bought by a non bald man ... tell us please. We can guess, but be explicit Victuallers (talk) 20:34, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Now fixed the hook, that record went from 1987 to 2008, the 90s recession, the fallout and the market gradually maturing itself explains why it took so long to achieve the record. Donnie Park (talk) 18:55, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Model year[edit]

Are these really model years, maybe better to say production year, I dont think that there were model years used on in 1920s or 30s. Not in European cars anyway. -->Typ932 T·C 18:13, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

These are years as given by the auction listings because I used to think they were the same. Donnie Park (talk) 17:54, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Article title[edit]

"Most expensive cars sold in auction" sounds grammatically incorrect to me. Shouldn't it be "Most expensive cars sold in auctions" (per the lead) or possibly "Most expensive cars sold at auction" ? DH85868993 (talk) 22:02, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@DH85868993: You could've done it if nobody responded WP:BOLD, but it's been done since then. Donnie Park (talk) 13:22, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Donnie Park: I think I was after some indication of which of my two suggestions people preferred (and then over time, I just forgot about it...) But I'm glad to see the article was eventually renamed. DH85868993 (talk) 20:28, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

World / Annual / Absolute records section[edit]

--Lbecque (talk) 19:35, 4 July 2014 (UTC) I noticed that the World and Annual tables do not list the Ferrari NART which sold for $27.5M in 2013. I went to the source website to see if it had been updated and found out it was a pay subscription site so I couldn't run the same report. However, I did find the subject Ferrari on that website using another search method.[reply]

I propose that since the World and Annual tables are not being updated by anyone, it is a pay site requiring a subscription and the site is not recognized as the authority for record setting like the Guinness Book of World records is; that the World and Annual tables be deleted. We can just have the one table of Absolute records maintained by whatever news source is appropriate. It is also less confusing this way.

  • Lbecque I made the decision to not update it but instead merge and colour highlight the absolute list but it's going to be later on. Donnie Park (talk) 13:25, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
