Edits needed[edit]

This list needs several edits that I don't have time to make:

  1. Move (change title): By default, the list is sorted, not by crime, but by date; although it is sortable and can be sorted by any column. It should be renamed, "List of last executions in the United States for certain crimes", or something to that effect.
  2. "Convict" column should sort by convict's surname. Currently it sorts by convict's first name, which serves no imaginable purpose.
  3. Slashes should be replaced with appropriate words or punctuation marks, or otherwise eliminated. Per MOS:SLASH, slashes should not be used to connect words.

Assault in prison category[edit]

Looking at the circumstances of the Rudolph Wright case described as the last for assault, it's actually stated that the assaulted man died, so it's not particularly remarkable that Wright was executed - would it be worth getting details for the last non-lethal such case? (presumably one of the five others noted in the table of statistics). Billwilson5060 (talk) 22:48, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you follow the reference, he stabbed a man during a prison brawl. I added another source that states he was executed for assault, not murder.Bkatcher (talk) 03:51, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I found Robert Harmon, who died on August 9, 1960 for "assault with a deadly weapon while under a life sentence." Such case can be found on the Epsy file under "Attempted Murder." Sources: 1, 2 --Jean Po (talk) 23:00, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Latham and Britton[edit]

Article says that these people were executed for adultery in 1643 and lists the jurisdiction as State of Massachusetts. Massachusetts was a colony in that year. Should State be changed to Colony for this entry? 47.137.184.131 (talk) 05:32, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

James Coburn[edit]

Didn't James Coburn also murder his victim but was only prosecuted for robbery? Cookfoodchef1 (talk) 21:04, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Rosenberg Ethnicity[edit]

Why are the Rosenbergs listed as 'other races' on that last chart? They were both Jewish, and the article lists Julius as of Slavic descent. Bkatcher (talk) 01:27, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Witchcraft[edit]

What about witchcraft? 34 people were hanged from 1647 to 1692.
