Requested move 21 September 2017[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: not moved - other contributors to the discussion have suggested Queen Victoria may be an exception, if they want to make a separate RM there, that's fine. DrStrauss talk 14:47, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

– No reason why the title of King or Queen cannot or should not be included. --Nevéselbert 00:48, 21 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose all but possibly Victoria. No reason to include King or Queen, and yes there is a reason not to, see wp:concise. Possibly Victoria should stay as is too for consistency, I can argue that one both ways. It's borderline whether the word Queen adds anything there, IMO. • Oppose per Andrewa. I don't see much value in the moves. Victoria is the only one that would make sense if you were going to move any, as the argicle itself is at Queen Victoria.  — Amakuru (talk) 10:47, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

– Making "knights" and "dames" lowercase seems like a fairly obvious move per MOS:JOBTITLES, but "Grand Cross" is tricky. Per my proposal, I have no problem rendering it lowercase as well. However, I can also understand the case for List of knights Grand Cross of the... and List of knights and dames Grand Cross of the..

Open to either change per the community consensus. Woko Sapien (talk) 16:02, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
