Organising by county?[edit]

This is a very useful list article. Might I suggest that it could be organised by county, perhaps by an extra field in the table? Jezhotwells (talk) 17:34, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That wouldn't be too much work. I based it on the existing List of churches preserved by the Churches Conservation Trust in Northern England & I'd like to invite User:Peter I. Vardy to comment first as the main driving force on Churches Conservation Trust.— Rod talk 19:06, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
From my experience at FLC (and that is where this list should go IMO) too many columns result in adverse criticism. If a further column were to be added to this list it would (on my admittedly old-fashioned narrow screen) squeeze the Notes column too much, resulting in more white space (which FL reviewers do not like). So, personally, I would not add another column. If someone really wants to separate out a particular county, they can always use the "Find" facility available on their browser. What do others think? --Peter I. Vardy (talk) 21:10, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Having slept on it, how about this? Move the village/town/whatever to the name column; it is usually part of the title anyway. This will leave the county "exposed", and therefore sortable.--Peter I. Vardy (talk) 07:58, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'd be happy with that solution if others agree?— Rod talk 08:33, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That sounds like an excellent idea. Jezhotwells (talk) 12:17, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Tis done - can always be reverted if people aren't happy.— Rod talk 13:58, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations[edit]

What a lovely treat to see this wonderfully informative and beautifully illustrated list on the front page. It has fair made my morning. Congratulations to everyone concerned. I'm sure it involved a lot of work. 86.159.193.103 (talk) 07:32, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
