Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on April 24, 2015.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that singer-songwriter Jorge Drexler is the first Academy Award winner from Uruguay?

Comments by Erick[edit]

Alright here are my comments for this review:

  • Link the first instance of Oscar in the opening paragraph. Ignore this one.
  • "and received nominations for the Latin Grammy and World Soundtrack Awards" I would change it to something like "and received a Latin Grammy and World Soundtrack nomination.
  • "The singer was" Why not just put "he" since you already used "the singer" two sentences before?
  • Why wasn't he allowed to perform the song at the Academy Awards?
  • As far as I know, parenthesis after an album is only for the year it was released so you can remove them. Ignore this if I'm wrong.

*I'm fairly certain that Drexler has received ASCAP awards for writing Spanish versions of several Shakira songs. They should be mentioned this and on the prose (see the Romeo Santos awards where Santos was awarded several ASCAP awards for writing songs for Aventura). Same applies to the BMI awards (but only if he is credited).

  • You don't need to limit the awards to only the top honors on the infobox. You can include several awards where Drexler received several nominations such as Premio de la Música.

That's all I got (my grammar isn't that great so I can't comment too much on the prose), but it's a decent list overall. I can't imagine it having difficulty on the FLC. EDIT: Here's the 2011 ASCAP Latin Awards which has three more award for Drexler. Erick (talk) 17:52, 22 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I found an award ceremony called "Premios Graffii which is dedicated to Uruguayan music. Drexler won in 2005 and got several nominations that year, twice nominated nominated in 2007 and 2009. EDIT: Whoops, I missed one more ASCAP award and it's in 2011 in the television category for Waka Waka (This Time for Africa). Erick (talk)
That should do it, great job! Erick (talk) 18:55, 23 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
