This article is written in Canadian English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, centre, travelled, realize, analyze) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.

Categories of Availability[edit]

Where the channel's "availability" is concerned, I take it to mean availability on cable and/or satellite. What about stations that are not available on Canadian cable or satellite, but available terrestrially? One good example are the low-powered stations in Detroit (such as WUDT-CA). -- azumanga 02:11, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the .2's and .3's are missing from the cable; in one case a 750kW Fox -DT2 some 40 miles away is notable by its absence from CATV and from local newspaper TV listings. Support adding the word "television" for precision. Leaning support on the separate matter of changing "United States" to "American". intitle:"List of American" gives 518 results, intitle:"List of United States" gives 1,768 results. But the situation is complicated by redirects (is there a way to exclude those from the search?), and false positives on both sides like List of American Idol finalists and List of United States Marine Corps installations. But the use of both as adjectivals in titles is definitely attested. Seems like there's a trend of using "United States" in articles about government (and possibly geography), and "American" in other contexts. Colin M (talk) 18:23, 28 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
