Series 9 Episode 1[edit]

Certain conventions are accepted for series such as New Tricks - the timeframe is shorter than in real life, all events happen to the same unit/group of people (to avoid scene setting for each episode) and 'ignoring time spent on sourcing resources etc.'

However, someone waltzing in, saying 'drop everything for this very dead case and burn the documentation afterwards (and do it for reasons I won't tell you)' would be told to 'go away several-ways/that they were acting ultra vires' etc.

Probably too much OR for Wikipedia - but 'List of fiction in which historical mysteries are solved' would be interesting - other entries would include an episode of Inspector Morse, and The Daughter of Time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.254.147.68 (talk) 12:16, 30 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

what are secondary sources for an article that is a list of television episodes, described, with air dates?[edit]

I see the flag requesting secondary sources for the list of episodes. This sort of article is not the place for reviews, as those usually go in an overview article for the series. What is an apt secondary source? Just curious, as I cannot think of any, and did not see any at one or two other episode list articles. --Prairieplant (talk) 05:20, 12 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Series 1, DAC Donald Beavan[edit]

There seems to be a problem with IMDB, in that it shows Tim Woodward playing DAC Donald Beavan, but when you click on Beavan's chracter, IMDB only shows Nicholas Day. Interestingly, Woodward is shown in Full Cast & Crew as playing Beavan's character. Woodward's filmography does not include New Tricks.

Of course, it could be that Woodward was originally slated for the part but was replaced for some reason. 58.7.119.157 (talk) 04:09, 26 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Series 12 misleading ratings[edit]

There's a note saying that it uses 28 day data, but...why? Why is it using different, incomparable, figures to the others? It gives the (false) impression that the last series had good ratings (compared to 11 at least), when in reality they were the worst ever. 2.98.141.203 (talk) 16:23, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sandra the bully[edit]

One of the best episodes see https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x32doi4 for the ending (spoiler warning) but I couldn't identify it in our list of episodes... what am I missing? Andrewa (talk) 09:22, 25 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the clip is an extract from Series 7 Episode 8 - "Coming Out Ball" as that is the episode with Sian Phillips as Lady Elizabeth Linden (from the credits on the end). Dhericean (talk) 08:53, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
