OK, your question sent me on the hunt to review the list of available Game Gear games and what they "should" be called. I'm doing some research in a number of different directions that should help solidify what names were used how. Long story short, it appears that GG Shinobi and GG Shinobi 2 were the Japanese names. If someone else doesn't attack this first, I'll correct these, along with many of the other titles, once I complete my research.
Please be aware that, like many other systems, it's not always easy to tell what the title should be. Often games were packaged with a particular in-game title, but in differently labeled boxes depending on the region. GoodGG tends to use the in-game screens, no-intro tends to use the game boxes. I'm also checking GameFaqs. Unlike the Nintendo systems, I don't see an "official" list of the released games for this system. Dawynn (talk) 13:20, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Andre Agassi Tennis - European Release[edit]

Has anyone found any proof of the existence of a European version of "Andre Agassi Tennis" outside of GoodGG? No-Intro (which has been updated far more recently) indicates only a US release, as does GameFaqs and AllGame, and a few other lists that I've seen.

Hmm. Unboxed, a single scan of the cartridge front, not even big enough to check details. Doesn't really help us. And since the Game Gear did not have a PAL version, that doesn't help us either. The GG system was a handheld. It had its own display system that was not region-specific. According to the main Sega Game Gear article, there was no region encoding of any kind to differentiate one region's carts from another's. No proof here. European Release[edit]

I know that there's been controversy about how to indicate "European" releases, especially since this has typically meant both Europe and Australia. Some systems have chosen to use "PAL" in order to indicate both locations -- which is fine for TV-based systems. But the Game Gear was handheld and used region-free cartridges. Everything used the same output model -- no NTSC or PAL concerns here.

I'm going to switch back to "EU" as a region indicator until someone suggests something better that actually fits this system. Dawynn (talk) 09:01, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Donald no Magical World[edit]

"McDonald's: Ronald in The Magical World" was only ever released as "Donald no Magical World". If the game is played on a US region game gear (or EUR I believe), an English version of the game will play, showing the different English title. The game was never promoted or sold as Mcdonalds: Ronald in The Magical World, so use of the alternate title only confuses people trying to research the game.
