Include BPM as well as MPM?[edit]

It may be useful to include BPM for the tempos, in addition to MPM, because BPM is more commonly used. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Egauderman (talkcontribs) 20:57, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Automatic addition of "class=FA"[edit]

A bot has added class=FA to the WikiProject banners on this page, as it's listed as a featured lists. If you see a mistake, please revert, and leave a note on the bot's talk page. Thanks, BOT Giggabot (talk) 03:23, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Change of name[edit]

The organization controlling the world championships has again changed its name. It is now the World Dance Council (WDC), and so titles of this and other articles should be changed also. Their website says:

"The WDC is the world authority for professional Dance and Dance Sport incorporating the World Dance Sport Committee and the World Social Dance Committee.
"The World Dance Council Ltd, until 1st June 2006 known as the World Dance & Dance Sport Council Ltd (WD&DSC), fomerly the International Council of Ballroom Dancing (ICBD), was established on 22nd September 1950 in Edinburgh, Scotland."

Since the name change refers to international dance competitions at the World championship level, and to other events controlled or co-ordinated by the WDC, I am going to suggest that we call the section on International dance List of WDC dances. In this way the sections referring to dance within the USA can call themselves whatever they decide. I think the overall article title also needs a change. The tables listing speed and duration of dances needs to be changed. Only the current WDC regulations need to be consulted and listed, so where there are now two columns, we should have one, headed "WDC". We should, where there are differences, list the professional conditions, and perhaps signal where other categories have different conditions. Obviously, anyone dancing competitively will look at the original regulations; we write for the general reader. Macdonald-ross (talk) 19:13, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
