Amarcord[edit]

The language columns states: Italian and some parts in Greek. Some parts in Greek?! Where? Is this a reference to the very few (and totally irrelevant in the overall economy of the movie) sentences spoken by the Greek teacher? Actually, there are instead several parts in Romagnolo dialect (including the title) which maybe somebody (inexplicably) confused with Greek. I therefore proceed to correct this.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.169.91.242 (talk) 01:37, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Discrepancies[edit]

I know for a fact that Salaam Bombay!(1988) and Cinema Paradiso(1988),for example, were contenders for this award which was won by Cinema Paradiso. However, Salaam Bombay and the rest of the nominations are listed as 1988 in the list while Cinema Paradiso is listed as winner in 1989.There wouldn't be a cause for Discrepancy however if the same pattern were fallowed throughout the list but in the very recent awards The Lives of Others(2007) is listed as winner for the year 2007(and not 2008) along with the nominations from that year. Was this a simple oversight or is there any particular reason behind this?

Layout[edit]

Could this not simply be given the same layout as the other Academy Award lists, e.g. no table, black on white text, winner in bold? This layout with the boxes and colour codes just looks messy. Also, why does the list need its own page? Could it not be merged into the AAfBFLF main article, as is done with other awards? Nora nettlerash (talk) 19:33, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, I like the bulleted lists better, for the same reasons I stated when the Awards for best picture were converted to a table. I also agree that this list of winners should just be on the main page of the award for Best foreign language film. After all, the most important information about any award is why it is given, and who has won it in the past.Givememoney17 (talk) 18:12, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this phrase in brace brackets? MOS does not seem to give any instances where curly brackets should be used in prose. It Is Me Here t / c 15:22, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's flemish, not dutch[edit]

The belgian films nominated coming from Flanders are not made exactly in dutch. They are made in a quite different langage called flemish.

2016's Tanna, list directors as "{co-directed by}"?[edit]

Should the directors be listed in that way? It seems the standard in other listings. --Trilotat (talk) 15:00, 2 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Math Does Not Add Up[edit]

57 + 7 + 5 + 3 = 72, not 68.

"...out of the 68 awards handed out by the Academy since 1947 to foreign language films, fifty-seven have gone to European films,[A] seven to Asian films,[B] five to films from the Americas and three to African films." Arcanicus (talk) 13:59, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
